What is Quinoa akin to? What would you have with it? Is it like a rice type of thing that you would then have cooked veggies with?

I love Quinoa! My mama was on a quinoa kick back in the day and she made it a lot of as a base for salads- like a replacement for the pasta in pasta salads. You can go kind of Greek style and add cucumbers, olives, parsley, tomatoes, a bit of feta and a splash of olive oil- yum! Or you could add some chopped up apples, and raisins, and maybe just a bit of walnut, and crumbled goat cheese... or some chicken with wilted spinach and sundried tomatoes??? huh? So yeah, it's kinda like wild rice, goes good with lots of things. Thanks for reminding me of the world of quinoa- quinoa party, whose in?
